Students Head to AAPP 2026 to Pursue Psychiatric Pharmacy

Thanks to the generous support of the AAPP Foundation, AAPP Past Presidents’ Destiny Fund, and AAPP members, 33 Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) students have been awarded $310 registration grants to attend the 2026 AAPP Annual Meeting in Bellevue, Washington, on Seattle’s Eastside! Recipients were selected based on the merits of their applications and each student received strong recommendations from faculty. Congratulations to each of the recipients!

AAPP 2026 has numerous opportunities for students, including a student education track, a mentoring opportunity, dedicated networking events, and more! Learn more at aapp.org/2026. Psychiatric pharmacists are encouraged to donate to keep this important grant program going!

Four Collegiate Chapter Impact Grants Awarded

The AAPP Foundation is pleased to announce the 2025 recipients of Collegiate Chapter Impact Grant awards!

  • Project: Pharmacists for Mental Health Equity: A Community Outreach Initiative

  • Project: A Harm Reduction Approach to Overdose Recognition and Naloxone Training in an FQHC Serving Unhoused Individuals

  • Project: Mind Matters: Mental Health Awareness Fair

This award program was created to support AAPP Collegiate Chapters with their events and activities that impact their on and off campus communities. AAPP Foundation Awards Nearly $15,000 in Grant Awards

The AAPP Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the 11th annual Defining the Future Research Grant Awards:

    • Project: Using a Needs Assessment Approach to Guide Development of Educational Material for Psychiatric Providers and Pharmacists on Clozapine Use and Monitoring       
    • Award amount: $3,250

These recipients represent individuals and institutions who are advancing psychiatric pharmacy through creative, innovative, and informative work. We applaud their work and are proud to support them in their endeavors. Project results will be shared during poster sessions at the 2026 AAPP Annual Meeting in Bellevue, Washington. 

Thanks to the supporters of the AAPP Foundation, this grant program was expanded in 2025 to allow for larger project budgets and to include submissions from new practitioners, in addition to previously allowed students, residents, and fellows. AAPP Foundation Awards Student Registration Grants to AAPP 2025

Thanks to the generous support of the AAPP Foundation, AAPP Past Presidents’ Destiny Fund, and AAPP members, 20 Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) students have been awarded $290 registration grants to attend the 2025 AAPP Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah! Recipients were selected based on the merits of their applications and each student received strong recommendations from faculty.

Applicants were required to submit a personal essay describing their interest in AAPP and psychiatric pharmacy. Please enjoy this excerpt of the essay by grant recipient, Suzie Yoon:

“Attending the AAPP Annual Meeting represents the next step in my journey toward becoming a psychiatric pharmacist…[It] will serve as a bridge between my aspirations and the future I envision; one where I continue to contribute to advancing mental health care and improving outcomes for individuals facing psychiatric challenges.”
