Our Mission
As the philanthropic arm of the American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists (AAPP), our mission is to advance the psychiatric pharmacy profession by supporting clinical outcomes research, pharmacy practice innovation and expansion, and pharmacy workforce development.
The Foundation’s mission complements that of our affiliated association, AAPP, which focuses on serving psychiatric pharmacists and aspiring psychiatric pharmacists and advancing their reach and practice.
Our Vision
A world where individuals living with mental illness receive optimal care because psychiatric pharmacists are an essential member of the health care team.
Core Purpose
With optimal care for those living with mental illness being our passion, AAPP Foundation supports or conduct initiatives around the following core areas:
- Research: Demonstrate the impact of psychiatric pharmacists on patient access, outcomes, and costs through research.
- Innovation: Contribute to innovations in practice through the funding of psychiatric pharmacy innovation and practice expansion projects.
- Pharmacy Workforce: Support the development of the pharmacy workforce through education and initiatives that expand knowledge and application of that knowledge to enhanced care for those living with mental illness, including substance use disorders.
