Over the past year, I have been with sick family members during hospitalizations on several occasions. I can attest that disjointed care prevails. After a tense conversation with a consultant during the last visit, I finally asked to speak with the pharmacist. Not surprisingly, the pharmacist happened to be a former student who listened to our medication concerns, took a thorough history, pulled up and explained lab results, and developed a plan of action to present to the physician. To me, this pharmacist was a shining star amidst the bevy of healthcare professionals caring for my relative. Read more.

The CPNP Foundation is committed to StigmaFree patient-provider interactions. Join us as we fight stigma throughout CPNP 2018 in partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and their StigmaFree campaign! Navigating life with a mental health condition can be tough. The isolation, blame, and secrecy that is often encouraged by stigma can create huge challenges to moving forward in one’s recovery journey. Learning how to avoid and address stigma are important. NAMI and CPNP Foundation are committed to replacing stigma with hope by supporting NAMI's StigmaFree campaign. Read more.
Thanks to the generous support of the CPNP Foundation, CPNP Past Presidents’ Destiny Fund, and CPNP members, twenty (20) students are receiving complimentary registrations and a $500 registration and travel grant to be used toward their attendance at CPNP 2018. These twenty students were selected by the CPNP Student Committee based on the merits of their applications. Read more.
In 2017, three Defining the Future Research grant applicants were selected to receive funds for their research projects which align with the CPNP Foundation’s mission and vision. As a condition of the grant, recipients were required to submit their research for abstract consideration and, if selected, present their research results as a poster at CPNP 2018. We are pleased to announce that all three grant recipients were selected as poster presenters, and all three grant recipients are award finalists! Read more.
