2023 Defining the Future Grant Recipients Announced

The AAPP Foundation is pleased to announce two recipients of the eighth annual Defining the Future Research Grant Awards:

• Andrew Chantha Hean, PharmD, PGY2 Psychiatric Pharmacy Resident, UC San Diego Health: “Evaluation of pharmacy resident burnout and career satisfaction based on residency staffing model”
• Paige Dorve-Lewis, PharmD, PGY-2 Psychiatric Pharmacy Resident, UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital: “Overdose Prevention Strategies in High-Risk Youth Populations; Impact of Pharmacist Intervention and Interprofessional Collaboration”

A requirement of the Defining the Future grant program is that the research project must mirror the mission and vision of the AAPP Foundation. Applications go through a thorough evaluation process, and the selection committee is excited to see the results of these projects.

The AAPP Foundation was encouraged by the submissions from students, residents, and fellows who are working to improve the lives of people living with mental disorders and their caregivers. Thank you to each applicant for carrying out this important research.

Defining the Future Research Grants are awarded annually. Applications are due in late summer, and recipients are announced in October. Pharmacy students, residents, and fellows are eligible to apply. Now is the time to start thinking about your research project and planning to apply during the 2024 grant cycle.
