Up to $15,000 in grant funding will be awarded at the discretion of the selection committee.
2025 Timeline
*Website maintenance is anticipated August 15-September 2, and the application may not be available during this time.
- Application deadline: September 4, 2025, by 11:59 p.m. Central Time
- Grant recipients announced: October 3, 2025
- Abstract submission* deadline for AAPP Annual Meeting: Early January (exact date TBA)
- Poster presentations: To be scheduled for the 2026 or 2027 AAPP Annual Meeting
- Final written reports due: Mid-May, following the poster presentation (exact date TBA)
Grant Criteria
- The proposed project must align with the mission and vision of the Foundation.
- The primary investigator must be one of the following at the time of submission:
- A new practitioner (within 5 years of completing a PharmD program)
- A current PharmD student
- A resident or a fellow.
- The primary investigator will submit the application as the representative for the project team.
- Students, residents, and fellows must have a faculty advisor or residency/fellowship program advisor who will provide oversight and manage the project budget.
- Interdisciplinary projects are encouraged.
- Applicant must upload the following documents with their application:
- Current CV
- Letter of support from a faculty member, program advisor, or insitutional administrator.
- An itemized budget that details a funding request totalling between $1,000 and $10,000. Up to $500 may be included in the budget for registration and travel to the AAPP 2026 or 2027 Annual Meeting.
- Preference will be given to proposals that include a clear plan for presentation and publication of results.
- All projects must adhere to AAPP Foundation grant policies.
Reporting Requirements
- An abstract* must be submitted for poster consideration at the 2026 or 2027 AAPP Annual Meeting (early January deadline prior to the Annual Meeting). If accepted, the submitting author will present a poster during the assigned poster session. A PDF copy of the poster must be uploaded online as instructed by AAPP.
- During the assigned poster session at the AAPP Annual Meeting, the grant recipient will present their research and findings to a Foundation Board Member.
- A written report must be submitted to the AAPPF Board on or before May 13, 2026 and should include the budget with final expenses noted and reconciled to the approved grant award budget. Additional reporting items include:
- Background and Details-what, why, impact, audience, final budget, timeline
- Results-findings, impact
- Future recommendations-next possible phases
- Pictures and/or video (if applicable)
*Poster abstract submissions are made through AAPP's usual electronic poster submission process to be peer-reviewed by the abstracts and awards committee. The accepted grant recipient posters will be displayed in the poster hall at the assigned time during the AAPP Annual Meeting.
